
Tibetan Mahakala Silk Brocade ThangkaIn Tibetan iconography Mahakala has one head with three bulging eyes. He can have anywhere from two to six arms and his eyebrows are like fire, while his beard consists of various hooks framing his face. Mahakala has three eyes which symbolize the fact that he can see the past, the present, and the future. His crown is made from five skulls, and these five skulls represent our five weaknesses, anger, desire, jealousy, pride, and ignorance.
This thangka is 20 x 15 inches and the brocade is 33 x 26 inches. Made in Nepal.
