There is a rooster painted on the front of the box. During the Qing Dynasty, people were piad in boxes of rice like this one. A peasant would make only one box of rice while an officer would make five or six boxes of rice. This Chinese wooden rice carrier box is a foot and a half tall and a foot and a half wide, and it was made in China.
